In 2014, The Old Plough Inn was re-opened under new ownership as arestaurant by chef and co-owner, John Gregory. The ‘Old Plough Inn’ is over200 years old and, until the early 1980’s, incorporated the village shop.Egmanton originally had two other inns, but by 1880 both the ‘New Plough’and the ‘Rose and Crown’ were no more. Several times each year there arepilgrimages to the famous local church nearby and the inn is blessed as thepilgrims pass by.

The Old Plough Inn is an 18 Century building which retains its old charm andcharacter. Owners, John and Lisa Gregory have fully refurbished it in a fresh,clean and vibrant decor to compliment the open log fires, old beams and it’s quirky old features. The Restaurant can be found in the beautiful countrysidevillage of Egmanton, just 5 minutes drive from Tuxford and approximately 15minutes drive from Retford and Newark.

Head Chef and owner, John, is classically trained to rosette standard with over 30 years experience of creating his dishes with passion and flair. All food ishomemade and cooked fresh to order using locally sourced produce. There is awide menu choice, several daily specials and a good choice of dishes forvegetarians, together with a children's menu. Any dietary requirements can alsobe catered for and we recommend that you mention this when booking yourtable.
